Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern use of GeoGuesser, an online geography guessing game operated by Békési Bálint, a private individual based in Hungary. Contact: abbalint@gmail.com.
1. Using GeoGuesser
GeoGuesser offers geography-based gameplay, including guest play and multiplayer features. Features may change, be temporarily unavailable or be discontinued. Access is subject to these terms and applicable law.
2. Guest play and optional accounts
You may play supported game modes without registering. Guest progress may depend on a browser session and may become inaccessible if cookies are deleted or you change devices. When social sign-in becomes available, you may choose to connect Google or Facebook to a persistent account. You are responsible for securing access to your authentication provider account.
3. Public usernames and profiles
GeoGuesser may generate a public nickname automatically. If username customization becomes available, you must not choose names that are hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, impersonate others, reveal private information, or mislead players into believing you are staff. We may rename, restrict or suspend accounts to address abuse, subject to applicable law.
4. Fair play
Do not use bots, exploits, modified clients, unauthorized automation, artificial matchmaking, score manipulation, account impersonation or other methods to gain an unfair advantage or disrupt the service. We may investigate suspicious activity and remove invalid results from leaderboards.
5. Leaderboards and statistics
Scores, ranks and statistics are intended for entertainment and may be recalculated or corrected when errors, cheating or system changes are detected. No leaderboard position, rating or availability is guaranteed. Unless expressly stated otherwise, game points have no cash value.
6. Advertising and external links
GeoGuesser may display advertising, including ads supplied by Monetag or Google AdSense when enabled. Advertisements are third-party content and may lead to external websites with their own terms and privacy practices. Ads do not constitute endorsement by GeoGuesser. You are not required to click advertisements to play supported free modes. Advertising technologies and consent choices are explained in our Privacy Policy.
7. Google Maps and third-party services
GeoGuesser uses Google Maps and Street View and may offer Google or Facebook login. These features may be governed by additional third-party terms, including Google Maps Terms and the applicable authentication provider terms. We do not control the availability of third-party services.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep GeoGuesser available, but maintenance, technical faults, internet outages and third-party changes may interrupt access. We may modify gameplay rules, scoring, matchmaking and supported features.
9. Intellectual property
The GeoGuesser name, original game code, interface and other original content are protected to the extent permitted by law. Third-party maps, imagery, trademarks and services remain the property of their respective owners. These terms do not grant rights to reuse third-party Street View or map imagery outside the game.
10. Liability
GeoGuesser is provided on an as-available basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for interruptions, lost guest progress or third-party content. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Hungarian law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under applicable law. You may contact us first to try to resolve a concern informally. Any dispute resolution or court jurisdiction is subject to mandatory applicable rules.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these terms when the service changes. Material changes will be communicated appropriately.
